Cami's Story: NICU Baby's Journey Home

This month I really focused on the parents of premature infants. The following youtube video is a story of two twins that were born early. Madison had a stage four brain bleed, she was in a very serious condition. Sadly she passed away, but her sister Cami fought hard to stay alive. Cami suffered from an infection of the bowel, which means that her intestines couldn't really process her mother's breastmilk. This story has a loss but I feel like these parents were very strong and they kept fighting for Cami, even though they lost Madison. I feel like the Neonatal Nurses were very caring and respectful towards the family and this played a big part in them feeling comfortable and safe. They even said that they considered the nurses as a second family to them. This story was very inspiring because Cami had a lot of complications but she pulled through and she was able to go home and live a healthy life.
