Blog 8: Research and Working EQ

1. What is your working EQ?
What is the best way to make sure a premature baby is healthy?

2. What is a possible answer to your working EQ? Please write the answer in thesis format.
Making sure the baby has correct nutrition and support to help them grow faster and healthier.
Make sure the parents know about the serious medical challenges the premature baby may face, good communication with the parents is a major part in ensuring that the preemie will be healthy.
3. What is the most important source you have used that has helped you come up with an answer to your working EQ?
The most important source that I have come upon to help me answer my working EQ is an article called "A Primer on Preemies". This article has really helped me answer some of the questions I had about premature babies. It goes on and talks about some of the most common diseases a premature baby may face and it has some helpful facts on premature babies themselves. It stresses the importance of correct nutrition and why it affects a premature baby.

4. Who is your mentor, or where are you doing mentorship, and how does what you are doing relate to your working EQ?

My mentor is Diana Guevara she is registered nurse and she works at the LAC+USC medical center she has helped me answer my working EQ because she stresses a lot on making the patient feel comfortable. This helped me really look into making sure the patient or patients parents are comfortable and that they are having good communication especially in these situations. It is good to be open and always tell the truth even if it is hard. In the end telling the truth will make it easier on the parents to take care of their premature baby.
